About Me

Anyonghasaeyo!

Welcome to Her Korean Things! You can call me Rue! :)

Few Things You Might Want To Know About Her Korean Things:

Is Her Korean Things a Kpop site?
아니 a-ni (nope)! Her Korean Things is a personal blog written by an individual who shares on anything Korean. It could be my concert reviews, Korean language, my food commentaries, my Korean travel stories, a Korean book that I've read, some Kpop new that I read, daily touch with anything Korean, even my Korean mug! It's also a place to gather Korean culture lovers to chat and perhaps hangout at Noraebang one day!

I don't report the up-to-date Kpop news and gossips in town. But since I'm a Kpop fan, I tend to relate my posts with anything Kpop related like K-dramas or songs or artists!

Why do I see some Korean Words in between your stories?
I always think language learning could be easier! In the midst of blogging, I love to share some simple Korean phrases where we can use in our daily life so everyone can learn along the way while reading my blog posts!

I've some of my Korean things to share but how do I do it?
No place to write down your that very precious experience? Her Korean Things is the best place for you to share your experiences with Korean stuff or Kpop or anything related, as personal as you want it to be. Feel free to email herkoreanthings@gmail.com your article with photos and I'll follow up with you!

Are you Korean?
Nope. I'm a Malaysian who loves the Korean culture and learns Korean. :)

My mission!
To jot down & share as much as I could on my Korean things so I can Koreanize people!! Travelling Korea, Kpop, learning Korean, Korean food, or even that little Korean mug I bought back from the street at Korea! :P

The history behind
I was into the Korean scene since year 2000, when Autumn in My Heart was ruling the K-drama scene.
Then, Shinhwa and H.O.T stirred the hallyu within me.
Not too soon later I realised I wasn't able to appreciate a song too much when I don't understand a word they are singing - I picked up the language.

Learning the Korean language kick-started a lot of stuffs! I romanized songs, gave free classes to my friends, personalised K-pop language classes to students, setting up Facebook page just to share the love for anything Korean, and my proudest moment was when I went to Korea for 6 weeks to teach kids with World Vision!

In year 2010 I started selling some Kpop albums and merchandises, and I realised it's so nice to see the Kpop happiness of my purchasers. That's when I started Han Corner, where I take orders of Kpop items once a while!

It was really a great experience with every book read, every people met,
every place traveled, every song listened and sung...

So I figured out that I should not let all these fade away.

My brain isn't a computer, so why not let the technology help me restore my memories along the journey :)

That's why I'm here! Oh gosh where was I for the past 10 years?? :P

Thanks for dropping by I really appreciate it!
